Roman Drape Dress by fLuXuS!

available in stream; $88

I love this dress!  It has a little more fabric but it drapes over body quite nicely.   Accessorize it anyway you want–belt it, adorn it with long strands of pearls, or wear it with a leather jacket…the dress is going to look fabulous!

I met designer Roxanne Heptner of Wilt back in May and she was showing off her summer collection.  She’s made a name for herself in the fashion world with her ever so famous high low tanks & cardigans.  And, I have to say that her fabrications and silhouettes are very flattering.  Celebrities were seen wearing them all over town too!

Ohhh, this is a must-have!  Not only do I heart the style, I love the color.  It has this gray & purple tone that’s going to look fabulous with all colored bottoms.  And it’s perfect for summer!  The fabric is so thin that it’s almost as if you’re not wearing nothing.

Now the high low tank is available in the baby version.  It’s not as long as the original but it’s perfect for your summer shorts!

Kendra Plaid Shirt

Celebrities love Rails…I love Rails…I think it’s safe to say that everyone loves Rails “Kendra Plaid Shirt.” Designer Jeff Abrams has made plaid shirts a huge trend this year! And, it comes as no surprise.  It’s a no-brainer when you’re modeling it around town in a variety of looks…with your skinny cargo pant, distressed denim shorts, or you can wear to work out if you feel like a celebrity!

This is the famous kendra shirt seen on Charlize Theron a few weeks ago.  It can be challenging wearing red plaid especially when it’s rich in color or when it’s made from an orange red….it always reminds me of Christmas.  And who wants to look like Christmas in the middle of summer!  The red/gray is a little subdued and is much more flattering.

The contrast of the sleeves are eye-catching.

Katz’s Delicatessen

June 26th, 2010 — 2:14pm

As you walk through the front door, you’ll see the famous table where Meg Ryan & Billy Crystal sat during their film “When Harry Met Sally.”  It’s not hard to miss when there’s a sign that points to the table…it’s obvious that they are proud of it.  It looks like a rinky dink deli–it has one of those twenty-something year old decor and a waiter that still wears one of those white coats dated from the 70′s…well it kind of is but the food is worth it.  They’re famous for their pastrami sandwiches & delicious hot dogs (you have to shower it with sauerkraut)…so delicious!  And, their french fries are a must!  You have to try it.

Nation Ltd

June 25th, 2010 — 12:51pm

The simple, unstructured white tee is often overlooked (and often tossed aside) but what you may not realize is that it acts as a strong foundation in your wardrobe.  Think about it for a second–it can be worn with your classic denim, paired with your sexy mini skirt, or complete it with your broken-in boyfriend khakis & your classic navy blazer….and don’t forget those accessories!  Ah, the possibilities are endless.  My favorite pick is the “mississippi tee” by Nation Ltd.

Hot Off The Press!

Jessica Alba’s wearing the burnout mississippi tee.

This tee is one of my other favorites by Nation.  It has that eye-catching drape that will go with all of your bottoms this summer!  Although it may not be hugging your curves, this top still offers that feminine appeal that you’ll want.

muscle tee

I’ve seen a ton of celebrities wearing muscle tees this season…and it’s got that bohemian look when you pair it with your distressed denim shorts, gladiators, & long layered necklaces–love it!  (I love how you can layer the tee with a longer tank too)

It was almost impossible to own anything by LnA a couple of years ago.  Boutiques were literally sold out of inventory and it was insanely expensive to order anything online (shipping is always the issue).  Two women from California started with the simple idea of creating the perfect men’s tee for women…a basic T-shirt line that focused on fit, color, and the perfect cotton…oh la la.  Ah, they are one of my favorite tees for summer!

Yes it’s hard to believe that pre-fall LnA is now available at DOLCE!  But it’s not what you think.  The two styles are made with a very fine cotton so you can still model it this season.

drape neck dress

This dress is one of my favorites.  I love how this drapes in all the right areas of your body.  Here’s a tip you should know…it can be worn as a dress or you can size it down and wear it as a tunic.  You’ll have that “downtown chic” style when paired with leggings (or skinny jeans), boots (or trade it in for some gladiator heels), and a gorgeous jacket of course…love!

Spice it up with a belt.

Or where it simple.

cape pullover

This is perfect for those days you want to dress a bit more casual yet fancy it up for lunch with the girls.

My favorite style for the season…off-the-shoulder.

Or you can never go wrong with a boat neck style.

Linea Pelle

June 21st, 2010 — 7:36pm

Can you say Linea Pelle?  Okay, here goes!  Lyn-e-ah Pell-eh.  Phew.

Linea Pelle

Looks can be quite deceiving to the naked eye as there appears to be 32 little leather strands to this bracelet but it only takes two full wraps around the wrist (and, it has a snap closure)…it’s really not complicated at all!

See what all the fuss is about.  The double sliced wrap bracelets are back at DOLCE!

Kate’s Paperie

June 21st, 2010 — 6:12pm

As you can already see, I love to blog about all the great restaurants in NYC (cupcakes just happen to be one of my favorite topics to write about!).  But what you may not know is that I love to shop in specialty boutiques as well.  The only tragic thing is, there’s never enough time to visit all of them!  So I pick and choose where to go each time I’m there.  It never fails, I’m always stopping by Kate’s Paperie to check out their inventory of wrapping paper, stickers, & journals…you name it they have it.  They’re always featured in a magazine for their unique collection of paper products.

It feels like heaven every time I walk in…

Vita Fede

June 18th, 2010 — 4:36pm

Keys to Vita

When I think of a skeleton key necklace, the first thing that pops in to my head is Tiffany & Co.  Right?  Luckily I didn’t get sucked in all that fuss…probably because so many women own one.  I’m definitely a fan of the skeleton key necklace & fell in love with Vita Fede “Keys to Vita” instead.  The keys are removable so you can mix and match your chain or add it to another necklace.  You can do anything you want with them!  The keys are often made with a vibrant snakeskin, lizard, or leather swatch.  These are just what you need to add that pop of color to your wardrobe!

It may be summer, but that doesn’t mean that you should put away your collection of scarves.  I carry my Love Quotes in all the candy-colored scarves with me because they’re lightweight for our weather and easy to throw on.  You’ll find mine in the car, in my purse, and even in my gym tote (I know it may sound strange, but it does get chilly at night)!  I did find one that I will have to add to my collection of scarves for summer…the Tolani Paisley trim scarf seen on Jessica Alba.  Yes, she was just pictured with another scarf!  It’s made from silk and won’t feel like you have something wrapped around your neck.  The only bad news, it’s not available for about another month.  Pre-order yours today and receive 10% off (promo ends June 25th).
