fishs eddy.

October 31st, 2010 — 12:32pm

{889 broadway}

hidden amongst all the construction work being done to the main building, you’ll find a great shop called fishs eddy.  be forewarned that it’s not luxurious as williams sonoma but it has a million and one great finds. i had to resist buying so many things for myself.  and if you’re creative, you can use some of the kitchenware as jewelry displays, vases, or decorate your personal working space.

be warned…don’t come to fishs eddy with a large purse (including shopping bags) or you’ll be sorry.  this place is not only crowded, but there’s not a whole lot of walking space and the last thing you want to do is knock over a stack of plates.  for those of you that are unable to make it, you can always visit their online store and ship your order directly to your home.  i love it here!

celeb sighting!!

October 29th, 2010 — 1:58pm

{nation ltd}

celebs love nation ltd tees just as much as we do!  and why wouldn’t you?  you can practically eat, sleep, and live in them all day long.  although this bali sweatshirt is no longer available (it’s from 2 seasons ago, yet kate hudson felt like wearing hers earlier this week), you can still get the cabo sweatshirt which is very similar in fit and style—the cabo is a long sleeve.

today was an exciting day as i opened the box of chan luu rtw.  we all know chan for her infamous wrap bracelets, but did you know she does women’s apparel as well….she does it all!  and it’s an amazing collection.  it’s never a dull moment with chan and her extraordinary designs.  glamorize yourself this fall with some of her jaw dropping clothes.

{love that it’s handmade}

{sequin cardigan}

chan transformed your average cardigan into something not-so-basic.  yes, it’s got sequin all over to liven the most simple and basic outfit…or dress it up with your pleated skirt this season.

{bubble hem dress in shale}

must-have this!  you’ve got to add this to your closet.  even though it may appear as if you’re covered up, the transparent fabric will make you feel sexy and feminine while showing off some of your skin….heads will be turning.  the bubble hem is one of my favorite picks for this season.  you’ll see me wearing it with opaque stockings and t-strap heels, switch out the heels and wear it with distressed flat boots & a motorcycle jacket, or i’ll throw on a pair of black leggings with an oversized cardigan and ballet flats…it’s so versatile!

~handmade with love~

October 27th, 2010 — 3:42pm

i’ve fallen madly in love with dogeared jewelry and will have to continue my obsession for layering my accessories.  the truth is, i’ll never stop piling on the accessories!  the more the merrier (wink).  the necklaces are dainty yet eye-catching….who wouldn’t notice the cute little charms?  besides, all the pieces are handmade with love…even better!

{lightning necklace, karma necklace, side cross necklace}

{elephant bracelet}

i just learned that when an elephant’s trunk is up, it’s a sign of good fortune….maybe we should all stock up!

fashion icon twiggy.

October 26th, 2010 — 7:08pm

i’d die without these jeans.  my ‘twiggy’ by james jeans follows me everywhere–from la to nyc these are my absolute favorite!  not only does it travel well, it gives me an opportunity to style myself in a variety of looks–wear them with ballet flats, espadrilles (oh, love!), or boots.  and these are fabulous with boots!  it’s just the right length so you don’t have excess fabric around the ankle.  the twiggy is now available in black cat!

{black cat, $128}

she loves them too…

and we still have the slate & china doll..

friedmans for breakfast~

October 24th, 2010 — 11:16am

i’ve recently developed an obsession for chelsea market.  and for many obvious reasons—as you walk through the building’s front doors, anthropologie awaits for you…you can smell the savory food a mile away…plus, you can take home a variety of sweet desserts.  and i love friedmans!  this place has a country home feel with an old school wooden bench seating area and chalkboard scribble on the walls.  too bad we don’t have places like this to eat where i live.  did i mention that every bite is delightful??  after you clean off your plate, head down towards the bowery kitchen for some cool gadgets to take back with you.  i promise you won’t leave empty handed.  i sure didn’t!

a splash of turquoise

October 22nd, 2010 — 10:40pm

it takes a little effort when you’re putting your accessories together but when you don’t feel like brainstorming (aka being lazy), you can always rely on turquoise to do the j-o-b!  the rich blue with aspects of green is the right color to make any outfit stand out from the rest.  and we love getting those eyebrow raising expressions by others.  it’s timeless, gorgeous, and did i mention that it will never go out of style??  i’m so excited for the ‘soixante neuf’ turquoise collection to arrive!  prepare yourself because it won’t get here until december…just in time for the holidays!  for now, put it on your wish list…

a sheer coincidence–while i was in la ordering this necklace, look who was in town this past weekend and decorated in the exact same necklace!

{turquoise horn necklace}

this necklace comes with an exaggerated length.  it falls around your waistline.

{turquoise necklace}

oh my, this is too die for!  this is my favorite turquoise piece by far….
